Drill it over and over and get down right dirty. In addition to video lessons their should be tons of specific lessons to help players master various tasks. From blues, country rockabilly, rock and heavy metal to jazz, death metal and what not. The lessons could be divided into groups, so you could have specific lessons for any genre of music. Way more focused and way more targeted to actual learning people to play guitar rather then to play a game. In addition to a new session mode I would love to see a new lesson mode. Also a distinct visual display of what note to end your riff or solo on. These solos and riffs should be layed out on the guitar neck on the screen, so player pick notes like in "learn a song mode". Along with riffs the could be on-screen suggestions to various solos, also pooled from a bank of solos, either at random or by players choice. There could be on-screen riffs, say from a bank of riffs, taken in by random or by the players choosing. There could be various on-screen-tools to help players getting familiar with soloing, gradually building up the players ear for what is good, what is great and what is a "passing note". So that they can find the right tones to lay down on the guitar. Repeated so many times that even people that don't know blues will know instantly where in the 12 bar progression the band is. So that everyone can get familiar with the 12 bar blues. You set the root and the band will return I, IV and V all day long. For ease lets picturing 12 bar blues jam. Imagine you get the band to perform a jam session. Seems Rocksmith is pretty much dead in the water.īut I will take 5 minutes to day dream of what would be an awesome guitar and bass learning tool, much more then just "a video game". But seeing as Rocksmith has been out for 4 years now and Ubisoft still has not even looped the stupid band I guess we really can't expect any new games for the futures.
And to find the right notes and create music rather then noise the player will need to take some "time outs" to actually find out what to play and how to play it. As it stands today, session modes is in my eyes totally useless because the stupid band stops playing if you stop soloing.
Sure some of these songs could make it as DLC, but this is one game I want turned into as a third installment to the series itself.įor me I would like a complete overhaul of session mode. This is just an idea/thought I've had for Ubisoft and the crew behind my favorite Rhythm game called Rocksmith. "When The Curtain Falls" by Greta Van Fleet

However, you can STILL play/export your songs straight from the discs and DLC from both Rocksmith and Rocksmith 2014 Edition together. I believe we'd have new Modes (especially an Online mode so you don't play alone), Guitarcade Games (maybe make a Fighting game where you play Riffs to perform combos, for example), Better features, make more guitars compatible (8 strings for example), etc. Hey, what would you guys think if this were the game's new official setlist for Rocksmith 2020 if it ever gets made one day in the future.
